Trend Hunter spotted a new must-have this 2010.

Yep, you guessed it. Gray hair is in, folks, and not just in, it’s en vogue! Hot fashion designers Gareth Pugh, Giles Deacon and Proenza Schouler flaunted their Spring 2010 collections with models clad in funky gray hair (check out the photo gallery here). Stylelist reports that beauty blogger and London hairstylist Alex Brownsell (who does Keira Knightley’s hair) “calls gray hair classy, understated and perfect right now,” in this article. And, in fact, in place of “how to dye gray hair,” 2010 is turning things around with stories like “how to dye hair gray!” More and more people are going gray by choice, just like you.

Imagine the day we see a doll with beautiful gray hair.  I think it’s time, but first I must convince my gray-haired beauties that they are truly beautiful.

Since beginning this blog, I have become very aware of people with gray hair.  Each time I see a women whose hair has gone gray, I make it a point to let her know how beautiful she is.  Interestingly, most of my  comments have been returned with looks of confusion and disbelief.  I occasionally get heads to turn in the direction of a brunette or blonde.  “That comment must have been directed to her, not me.”  How sad.

How sad it is that so many women have let society define for them what is beautiful and what is not.

And that is why I am so happy this blog exists.

You have celebrated what is not normally celebrated;

You continue to speak loudly against someone else pushing their shallow beliefs about what beauty truly is;

And you recognized that underneath your hair and skin lies a soul that reflects your real beauty.

Aging

I stood in the line where every body goes,
To fix the aging form of skin, hair or nose.
But strong as stone, I stood as I studied my reflection,
