Go from Gray to Great

Angelina Jolie sports the salt and pepper look for her hew movie "Salt"

We received a lovely comment from one of you the other day and we wanted to share it with everyone. I’m sure a lot of you out there have been in the same boat. Check out what PlainJane from Canada said:

After dyeing my hair for soooo many years I have forgotten what my true hair colour really is. Well, this year I decided to take a trip down the natural lane to find out. My hair is growing in these wonderful shades from black to brown to gray to white…I can’t wait to see the final outcome. I’ve cut 10 inches off of my waist length dyed black hair and will watch patiently as my crown of glory grows out. Hats off to all the ladies & gentlemen that embrace their true selves. Thank you to the inventors of the internet to give us forums for speech and support.

Sincerely,

PlainJane from Canada

Congratulations on making the big leap! We hope you keep us posted on your progress (and show us photos of your new hair). Anyone out there with a similar story?

This Oprah post about gray makeovers is a few years old but we thought it might inspire those of you who are going back and forth about going gray. Making the transition might not be as scary as you think it is!

I received this E-mail from More magazine. Apparently Jamie Lee Curtis is going to be on a future issue. I have included the link because I think that she looks fabulous on the cover with her gray hair– http://www.more.com/2049/17242-jamie-lee-curtis-s

My story is very similar. I started going grey around the age of 16. I dyed my hair every 3-6 weeks till the age of 33. Yes….17 years. I began to resent the fact I HAD to dye my hair. It was a difficult road to travel but I dont regret it one bit! This is who I am….and I was tired on covering it up!

A lot of people tend to worry about gray hair when in the reality it is who we are. At the moment, there isn't any real solution to reversing gray because heredity seems to be the number one cause. It is necessary to find out what your case really is before setting out for medication.
