Wanna show off your gorgeous gray hair?

Let us give you a chance to do so! We’ve been working on a special project for a while now that’s all about the gray movement. Like we said in our previous post, gray hair is all the rage—and we’ve got proof. Here’s your chance to inspire others and get in on the fun.

We’ve been collecting stories from women of all ages who have made the choice to go gray. There has been a nice mix of stories—from one woman who had her first gray at 14, to another who decided to keep her silver locks to honor someone special, and other tales of acceptance, courage and newfound confidence.

What’s your story? Shoot us an email at goinggray.ebook@gmail.com for a chance to be published in our eBook.

We’re very excited to hear from you!

Just got off the phone with my “big” sister. She’s sixty and I’m 52. last spring i decided to call it quits on coloring my hair. with the help of a local salon I have been growing out my hair and adding in high/low lights every few months to blend in the roots to avoid the “skunk” look. My three older sisters (all using hair color products) have had interesting reactions to my going grey , however the previous above mentioned phone call has prompted me to seek out a cyber ear to have a listen to what she just told me. She said that the reason my seventeen year old daughter was suffering from anxiety/panic attacks and dropped out of high school was because of my GREY HAIR. She suggested that my daughter’s fear of growing up and getting older most likey relates to the events of the past several months of not using hair color!!!!! My daughters anxiety has been ongoing for several years and we are finally able to give her the skilled help she needs. I love my hair and going grey is very empowering. What’s up with my feminists sister’s fear of grey hair?!!

In June 2009 I quit colouring my hair. I am documenting my journey from raven haired to sterling silver with monthly photographs it on my facebook page ever since. The response has been very positive. However I find random people either love it or hate it and for some reason feel the need to tell me so either way. I find the positive comments energizing and the negative ones thought provoking. The naysayer’s comments seem to be centred on their own prejudices and fears of being “old” themselves and less to do with me. It’s only been 8 months. I sill have a two toned mane but should be a stunning shade of silver by Christmas. I can’t wait!
