As we age, our immune systems become less effective. Each year, a shocking number of people over the age of 50 die from illnesses, (including the simple flu virus), that can easily be resisted by the use of vaccinations.
Part of aging is taking on additional responsibility for managing our health. Many of the women in our generation haven’t had to deal with serious health issues in their lives, and this makes it all the more important for them to remember the need for preventative medicine.
While eating right, exercise, rest and supplements are useful, today’s increasingly powerful strains of viruses means that even those of us who are taking care of our bodies can fall victim.
Make sure you talk to your doctor each year before flu season and ask them recommend any vaccinations which may be particularly beneficial for your physical condition and age group.
